Afternoon Live KATU - Facial Masks for Quarantine Skin

Writer's picture: Olivia HawthorneOlivia Hawthorne

Today I shared some of my favorite masks, as well as some recipes for masks you can make at home!

My Masking Picks:

-Farmacy Beauty Honey Potion

-Versed Hydrating Plumping Mask

-Versed Emergency Eye Mask

-Pixi Plump Collagen Boost Sheet Mask

You can also make great masks at home using ingredients from your kitchen.

Dry Skin

Avocado mask: Combine half of an avocado, 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt, 1 tablespoon of Olive oil, and one tablespoon of honey. Avocado and olive oil are packed with essential fatty acids, yogurt has natural lactic acid to help with cell turnover, and honey is a natural humectant that helps bind moisture to the skin.

Oily Skin

Astec Secret Indian Healing Clay mask: This is one I would only recommend if you're extremely oily, have clogged pores, and are not sensitive. Mix equal parts of the Calcium Bentonite Clay with either water or Apple Cider Vinegar. The package says, "feel your face pulsate" and they are not lying. This stuff will get very tight, and does an excellent job of pulling impurities from the pores. And, this clay can be found at Target!

Sensitive Skin

Oatmeal and Honey: It's just as easy as it sounds. Combine 3/4 of a cup of cooked oatmeal (cooled of course), with 2 tablespoons of honey. Make sure to use PLAIN oatmeal. Your Quaker Apple cinnamon packets will not have the same effect. Oatmeal and honey are both very calming and anti-inflammatory.
